Sunderland appear to be making their move in the transfer market and have reportedly bid for Bradford City forward Charlie Wyke.

According to the Northern Echo, the Black Cats have identified Wyke as a top target, and have made their move on the Bantams, who are expected to be one of the club's main promotion rivals next season.

Wyke is thought to be keen on a move to the Stadium of Light and believes the club can match his long term ambitions of playing at a higher level, and the club are also thought to be confident of wrapping up a deal to sign the Bradford City man.

The impressive Wyke scored 16 goals last season for the Yorkshire club as they once again fell short of promotion back into the Championship.

Sunderland are keen on adding new strikers to their squad as new manager Jack Ross seeks to guide the club to an immediate return to the second tier following a miserable two year period which has seen successive relegations for the Black Cats.

Wyke is a North East native having been born in Middlesbrough. He impressed during spells with both Wimbledon and Carlisle before earning a move to Valley Parade, where he has continued to enhance his reputation as one of the stars of League One.

Sunderland fans, what do you think to this? Good signing? Let us know in the comments!
