Sunderland Echo journalist Tony Gillan has hit out at Leeds United for their ticket prices in his latest column for the paper.

Sunderland have had a tough season this year and look destined for League One, though their fans have often remained loyal and travelled around the country surely out of hope more than expectation as the campaign has worn on.

They're bound to go to Elland Road in just over a week from now, too, for another Championship game where away fans - similarly to some home fans - are set to be charged £37.

It's a figure that has irked some before when heading to the home of the Whites but it really looks to have angered Gillan with him eviscerating the club and the fan-base in his piece.

Perhaps the most cutting remark, though, is in calling the club delusional.

He writes:

"It is indicative of the delusion at Leeds, a club that hasn’t seen the Premier League for 14 years, that their pricing policy suggests something special will be on offer in 10 days time."

The Verdict

It's certainly been a tough season for Sunderland and fans will have to fork out a lot of money to watch this game.

Even so, some Leeds fans will have to pay that too and so surely it is the club that's going to have to reassess things - especially when you consider their results this campaign.
