Sunderland are among four clubs across Europe to have sent scouts to track two Levante players this weekend, according to claims in Spain.

Spanish media outlet Super Deporte is reporting that Sunderland were keeping their tabs on Levante pair Jefferson Lerma and Enis Bardhi on Saturday as Levante drew 1-1 at home to Getafe in a league clash.

Alongside Sunderland, three other European heavyweights were scoutings these players.

French giants Paris Saint-Germain were thought to be running the rule over Lerma and Bardhi while Belgian outfit Anderlecht and Italian Serie A side Inter Milan also had scouts present to watch the game.

Jefferson Lerma, who is in his third year with Levante, plays predominantly as a central midfielder but can also be deployed as a defensive midfielder or as a right back.

The 22-year-old harbours ambitions of breaking into the Colombian national team and has attracted attention for his good performances this season.

Sunderland are also thought to be tracking Enis Bardhi.

The ten cap Macedonia international could follow fellow countryman Ezgjan Alioski to the Championship if he joins Sunderland.

The 22-year-old starred for his country at last year's European under-21 Championships with two goals and the diminutive midfielder is already attracting interest after joining from Ujpest in the summer.

The Verdict

Jefferson Lerma and Enis Bardhi are two young and talented players who would undoubtedly add something to Simon Grayson's squad.

Bardhi in particular is a highly coveted young creative midfielder, who has already struck three La Liga goals since his summer switch.

If Sunderland can nip ahead of PSG, Anderlecht and Inter Milan to land one or both of these starlets, then they may well have pulled off some shrewd business.
