Relegation threatened Sunderland could make a summer move for Reading goalkeeper Jonathan Bond, according to the Sunday People, print edition, 01/04/2018.

Bond, who has spent this season on loan with League Peterborough United, is wanted by Black Cats manager Chris Coleman as he desperately seeks to add a new number one to his squad ahead of next season.

The 24-year-old 'keeper made his breakthrough with Watford, and was a regular in the England under-21 set up over the course of a number of seasons, but never quite managed to establish himself as the number one at Vicarage Road before making a move to Reading on a permanent deal in 2015.

It's been much of the same though for Bond during his spell with the Royals, and loan spells have once again followed for Bond, leading to him impressing for the Posh this term and catching the attention of Sunderland gaffer Coleman.

Bond would no doubt relish the chance to make a move to a club the size of Sunderland and begin to get regular first team footall under his belt for a club he knows harnesses aspirations of eventually making it back to the Premier League one day.

Sunderland and Reading fans, what do you make of this? Good move? Let us know in the comments!
