Sunderland fans urge talented forward to join Tottenham over Arsenal

Sunderland’s relegation from the Sky Bet Championship is likely to lead to another exodus of players at the Stadium of Light.

After finishing bottom of the Championship table, and with League One beckoning, Sunderland’s supporters will happily see large sections of the playing squad depart.

One man the Stadium of Light faithful will want to see stay is Joel Asoro, who Sunderland are hopeful of tying down to fresh terms.

However, according to the print edition of the Daily Star on Sunday (page 49), Arsenal and Tottenham are amongst the clubs eyeing a swoop for the 19-year-old.

In a disappointing season, Asoro made 29 appearances across all competitions, proving to be a shining light and scoring three goals.

Here at FLW, we asked Sunderland’s supporters if they were to lose Asoro this summer, where would they rather the striker go, Arsenal or Tottenham.

69% of voters in our poll have backed the Sunderland forward to make the switch to Spurs and link up with Mauricio Pochettino, with just 31% urging the teenager to move to managerless Arsenal, who are embarking on life without Arsene Wenger.
