League One promotion hopefuls Sunderland have joined the race to sign former Arsenal midfielder Glen Kamara.

The 22-year-0ld played for Finland this weekend against Estonia, and now, according to the Daily Star, Sunderland want to sign the former Gunners man as they seek an immediate return to the Championship.

Currently in Scotland with Dundee, Kamara's form has caused quite the stir, with the article claiming a host of Championship, MLS, and clubs from Europe had all taken an interest in the midfielder.

Sunderland manager Jack Ross is well aware of the talent north of the border, and will see Kamara as the ideal sort of signing as he looks to use the muscle and financial power of the Black Cats in League One to his advantage.

Kamara is set to be out of contract in the summer, and while Dundee have offered fresh terms to the 22-year-old, no deal has been struck yet, leading to many believing that the club will indeed look to cash in on their star man in the January window.

An all action midfielder, Kamara would no doubt slot right into either League One or Championship football, and Sunderland will no doubt be mindful of being blown out of the water with some of the spending power now in the second tier.

Sunderland fans, what do you think? Would Kamara be a good signing? Let us know in the comments!
