New Sunderland defender Tyas Browning has spoken of the impact Simon Grayson's positive mindset has had on the club, banishing the demons of last seasons relegation already from the club.

The on loan Everton defender has spoken to the Shields Gazette about his new manager, and has been impressed by the way Grayson has established himself on Wearside following his summer move from Preston North End.

'I think the manager’s brought a lot of positivity into the changing room and that’s what we needed, to be honest' said Browning.

The 23-year-old defender has made a decent start to his career at the Stadium of Light, playing in the midweek win over Bury in the League Cup, and he is hoping to get more opportunities to impress this season.

Browning also spoke of his desire to play more, commenting it was nice to be at a club where he was being afforded chances in the first team after growing frustrated at the lack of opportunities at Goodison Park last year.

Sunderland have got off to a decent start, drawing with Derby County in the Championship before running out 1-0 winners over Bury in a hard fought victory at Gigg Lane in midweek.

Mackems, what do you think? How has Browning settled in? Let us know in the comments!
