Sunderland's summer window is really starting to kick-off now with signings coming in and plenty more apparently on the way.

After a dismal few years, it looks as though the Black Cats are beginning to get onto the road to recovery and fans, though cautious, will be hopeful that that is the case.

Certainly, the arrivals Jack Ross has brought in so far look pretty solid and it would seem that Chris Maguire looks set to be the latest man to come into the Stadium of Light - as per Keith Downie:

The defender is best known for his work with Oxford United and at the age of 29 will bring experience and good League One knowhow to a side that clearly needs it.

Certainly, he might not be a glamorous signing but he is surely going to be a good one with Ross, so far, getting his transfer policy spot on by the looks of things.

The Verdict

Sunderland are making moves that suggest they are on firmer footing than they've been for a good few years.

Time will, of course, tell with the Black Cats as they look to bounce back this season but so far Jack Ross seems to be doing a solid job.
