Having been relegated from the Premier League after a truly dismal campaign, Sunderland will begin life again in the Championship hoping to bounce back to the top-flight at the first time of asking.

The club parted ways with David Moyes in May following their demotion, and are yet to announce a replacement despite having returned for pre season training this week.

It has departures galore at the Stadium of Light with no movement the other way, with bosses at the club waiting on a new manager before any new additions to the squad are made.

Fans will experience a range of emotions during Sunderland’s managerial pursuit, with concern and anger sure to be dominating the minds of the Black Cats faithful.

Questions will be asked as to why the club have been linked with so many names, yet nothing concrete has materialised, and the Wearsiders are a long way from being able to launch a promotion push.

If a new manager is not announced very soon, then their fears will only multiply, and a continued lack of transfer activity is also cause for concern.

One a new man is at the helm, the summer signings will flow into the Stadium of Light, but is has been a long time coming for the forever suffering fans.

It appears Sunderland have been knocked back in their advances for several managers having been linked with so many names for such a prolonged period of time, and this is embarrassing for a club that considers themselves of Premier League ilk.

There is still time to turn things round at the club, but with the new season fast approaching, chairman Ellis Short really needs to consider pulling his finger out.
