The January transfer window may be done and dusted but Sunderland never rest when it comes to recruitment.

Lee Johnson's side were able to bring in a number of new signings last month with the hope of pushing the club into promotion contention this term.

Supporters will be hoping that the club will be playing Championship football next term, but of course there's work to do before then.

The club will be looking over potential targets with the summer transfer window in mind.

One of those players is Kevin Nisbet.

Here's the latest on the striker's future and whether a move to Sunderland could materialise.

What do we know so far?

Kevin Nisbet is a player that is certainly on Sunderland's list of targets.

The Hibernian striker is firing on all cylinders this term after scoring 13 goals already for the club as his team look to secure a top three finish in the Scottish Premiership.

Birmingham City have also been linked with a move, and while the 23-year-old says that he's 'flattered' by interest it remains to be seen whether he'll move on this summer.

Is a move likely to happen this summer?

Sunderland will almost certainly be in the market for a new striker this summer.

Kevin Nisbet is bound to be a player of interest but it's certainly not guaranteed that Hibernian will be open to selling the player.

That said, the prospect of playing for the Black Cats is bound to be appealing.

Sunderland's interest may well depend on what division they're playing in next term as with Nisbet attracting Championship interest it's possible that his head could be turned by the chance to play in the second tier.
