West Bromwich Albion have rejected loan offers from four Championship sides for promising youngster Sam Field, according to reports in The Express and Star.

The 19-year-old had been subject to interest from Barnsley, Derby, Norwich and Sunderland, but the Baggies have issued a resounding hands off to any potential suitors by rejecting all offers that have been put forward to manager, Alan Pardew.

Field has made six Premier League appearances so far to add to a series of fine displays at the back of the previous campaign, and the 19-year-old midfielder looks set for a bright future in the Premier League.

The youngster started each of Pardew’s first two games in charge following his appointment in November, but has since fallen out of favour under the former Newcastle and Crystal Palace boss.

However with the Baggies battling relegation, Pardew appears to have made the decision to keep Field at The Hawthorns this month.

The Verdict

Field is a fantastic youngster with bags of potential, and looks set for a long career in the Premier League.

Having impressing when called upon, the player will feel unlucky not to have appeared more under Pardew, who has opted for more experienced options given his side’s predicament towards the foot of the top flight table.

Field will have a role to play this year, and second tier suitors must now turn their attentions to other targets.
