Aston Villa fans were left perplexed last night and jumping to the support of midfielder Robert Snodgrass after it emerged West Ham chairman David Sullivan had almost not signed the midfielder, on the advice of his own children.

In an article published by the Daily Mail, Sullivan revealed that his children had 'begged him' not to sign Snodgrass and Southampton defender Jose Fonte.

However, now at Villa, Snodgrass saw the funny side, and called out Sullivan in a witty response on his Twitter account.

Despite Snodgrass coming out as the better man in this with his reply, many fans were still left shocked and appalled at the comments from Sullivan, and many took the time out to respond to Snodgrass and show him where their loyalties lie.
