The pre-season promise around Meadow Lane has crumbled and now there's lots of change around Notts County.

Kevin Nolan has been sacked, replaced by former Liverpool man Harry Kewell. He'll be looking to bring in new faces, players he's maybe worked with in the past.

They're slowly pulling away from the foot of League Two and rightly so, with a packed division and plenty of the season left they should still be contenders by the time May arrives. The title might already be a step too far, but there's no reason why they can't trouble the top seven, again.

When it comes to signing and releasing players, League Two operates very differently to the other divisions. Players leaving on loan are likely to be going to clubs at the same level, rather than youngsters dropping to the division below.

With the National league not being governed by the loan window, players could leave at any time during the season. January is nothing special.

That said, there are two players at Notts County that we believe could be primed for a loan to another club in League Two, for a variety of reasons. Here are two players we think will leave on loan in January.

Hawkridge was a summer capture from Lincoln City, but he's been frozen out under the new manager.

He's not kicked a ball under Kewell and is sure to be high on the list on players departing in January.

He's won the National League and has played in League One with Scunthorpe, so there should be no shortage of takers.

Max Culverwell is a young goalkeeper who doesn't seem set for many minutes this season.

It might be best for him to go out on loan to a non-league side and pick up some much needed experience and minutes.
