Birmingham City look set to lose Alen Halilovic in the summer as the attacking midfielder couldn’t agree a new contract with the club.

The Croatian joined in November last year, signing a short-term deal that would keep him at St. Andrew’s until the end of the previous season. And, after impressing under Lee Bowyer, Blues had hoped to tie him down to longer contract.

Talks have been taking place over the past few weeks but We Are Birmingham revealed that discussions have halted, with Blues now looking elsewhere in their search for a creative midfield option.

As you would expect, this was not the news that the fans wanted to hear. They recognised the talent the former Barcelona man has and there was a hope that he could become a hugely influential player under Bowyer moving forward.
