‘Such a talent’, ‘Last chance saloon’ – Loads of Charlton fans react to player’s long-awaited injury return

Charlton Athletic left-back Lewis Page is set to feature for the Under-23 side this afternoon as he steps up his return from an injury which has kept him out since October 2018.

Page was named in the starting line-up for the Addicks’ clash with their Crystal Palace counterparts at Sparrows Lane this afternoon, with the defender hoping to take a step towards featuring in the first-team fold during the second half of the season.

The 23-year-old has been significantly hampered by injuries in recent years, with a string of fitness setbacks having seen him fail to complete a full season of action for the Addicks since joining the club from West Ham back in January 2017.

However, Page now looks as though he is edging closer to his first-team return after being named in the Under-23 side from the start against Palace, with this seeing the defender make his return to action on home soil after featuring for the youth side in an away match earlier this term.

Plenty of Charlton fans responded to the announcement with many of them expressing their hope that Page does not suffer another setback, while others suggested the defender’s talent means he could be a big player for the first team if he stays fit.
