A number of Millwall fans have been reacting to the latest report that forward Jiri Skalak is set to leave the Lions and move to FK Mladá Boleslav back in his native Czech Republic.

The 28-year-old has been something of a bit-part player at The Den over the last two-and-a-half seasons following his arrival from Brighton in the summer of 2018. The forward’s arrival was met with some degree of promise given he had played a key role in helping the Seagulls earn promotion to the Premier League during the 2016/17 season producing five assists in 31 appearances (Sofascore).

However, Skalak was unable to ever fully establish himself within the Lions’ starting line-up and went on to make just 14 Championship appearances during his first season at The Den. The attacker suffered a ligament injury at the start of last term, and he went on to feature just 12 times in the league that campaign, registering one goal in the process which came against Huddersfield Town.

Skalak has once again been on the fringes of the squad so far this campaign, and he has made just one start in the league this term which came in the goalless draw against Birmingham City back in November. That came in more of a right-wing-back role, but he has since been unable to convince Gary Rowett to select him.

It now appears according to a report from iSport.cz, that Skalak is set to leave Millwall and return to the Czech Republic where he is being linked with a potential move to FK Mladá Boleslav.

Many Millwall fans were pleased and or relieved to be seeing the 28-year-old potentially depart the club, with those supporters keen to get him off the club’s wage bill.
