Stoke City’s Thibaud Verlinden is facing a lengthy spell on the sidelines after he damaged his ACL in the defeat to Preston on Wednesday.
The exciting winger came on in the 80th minute against North End but lasted just seven minutes before he was taken off.
And, the club confirmed on their official site last night that the Belgian has suffered a knee ligament injury, meaning he faces up to nine months out.
That’s obviously a major blow for the 20-year-old and he took to Twitter to send a message to the support where he vowed to come back stronger.
As you would expect, there was a lot of sympathy for the youngster from the fans, who know just how much potential Verlinden has after his impressive performances for the academy and on loan at Bolton earlier this season.
Do you know where these 15 ex-Stoke City players are playing now?
Here we look at some of the comments to his update on social media…
