Leeds United’s bid for automatic promotion took a huge blow at the weekend, as Marcelo Bielsa’s men fell to a disappointing 1-0 defeat at home to Sheffield United.
Everyone inside Elland Road knew that it was a must-win game for both sides, who have been at loggerheads for the majority of the campaign in pursuit of a place in the top two.
Bielsa’s men had already eased past fellow promotion rivals West Brom and Bristol City in recent weeks, and a win over Chris Wilder’s Blades would have put them in very good stead ahead of the business end of the season.
But it was a very disappointing display from the Whites – they created very few chances and failed to take them when one did come their way, even the late substitution of the returning Jack Clarke couldn’t ignite any life into the attack.
Barry Douglas was also brought on to replace Jack Harrison who, again, was far from his best at the weekend – the Manchester City loanee put in an impressive display against Bristol City last week, but failed to make an impact against a resolute Leeds side.
Here, we take a look at Leeds fans’ reactions to his performance at the weekend…
What a shame. Gutted. Not good enough today upfront. Cooper sadly showed shadows of his former self as did Philips but both have been unreal this season. Gotta be more deadly in the box. Harrison every game not good enough for me. 8 games to go. We can do it. #lufc #mot

Imagine we had Jarrod Bowen on the wing instead of Harrison……… #LUFC

That said. Reckon we'd have won the league if we'd been playing a footballer instead of a Jack Harrison. Such a passenger. Its genuinely astonishing. #LUFC

Sheffield united didn’t deserve to win that one. Just knew we’d be playing our asses off then they come in and nick one like that… just so disappointing. Cooper needs to shape up tbh, even Harrison. #lufc

#LUFC poor mistakes from cooper but uncharacteristic from how hes played this season, my biggest concern is bamford going missing and Harrison's inability to see the right pass

As for Harrison, every week he provides little-to-nothing and gets away with it because he has no competition. Standards are so low, that if he does one good thing, people fill their pants. If he was half the player Pablo was, we'd walk the league. #LUFC

Harrison and Bamford have to hang their heads, two sitters. Gutting. 8 games left….. #LUFC

I love our technique and the beautiful football we play but we lack physical presence even the big lads get bullied off the ball…when lost to WBA n Norwich n today they always seemed meatier tougher players- Tyler, klich, Harrison, ayling, bamford all soft on the ball #lufc
