Queens Park Rangers fan pundit Joshua Willcocks has given his thoughts on Mark Warburton's impact on the club following an impressive start to the season.

The former Nottingham Forest boss took over in the summer after Steve McClaren was sacked and has done a brilliant job so far, with the West Londoners sat in contention for a play-off spot.

"Since he's come in, I've been very impressed in his confidence to overhaul the entire squad from last year and sucessfully impose a more attractive and sustainable way of playing that has got the Rs fans back onside," the regular punter told Football League World about Warburton.

"He's understood the importance of youth development by showing faith in burgeoning talents like Eze and Chair and his man management skills has given much needed confidence to players who have struggled in recent seasons.

"It's been a long time since we've had a manager with such a distinctive footballing philosophy while achieving a high level of results and hopefully Warburton can sustain his good work well through the season."

With 11 matches played in the English second-tier, QPR sit in ninth place despite being a pre-season tip to be fighting relegation.

The likes of attacking midfielder Luke Freeman, dynamic full-back Darnell Furlong and combative midfielder Massimo Luongo were all sold in the summer but replaced shrewdly by the new boss, in what was a busy summer.

14 new faces were brought in and 17 departed as the Warburton era got under way.

Prior to the international break, Rangers piced up an impressive 4-2 win against Blackburn Rovers at the Kyan Prince Foundation Stadium, with a trip to Hill City awaiting them this weekend.
