Nottingham Forest got the job done on Tuesday night without having to get out of first gear, defeating Fleetwood Town by a goal to nil at the City Ground.

The Reds, after drawing 1-1 against Leeds United at the weekend, made nine changes to the side that battled it out for a point against the Whites at Elland Road.

Tiago Silva and Joe Worrall were the only players to keep their place in the side, with the likes of Carl Jenkinson, Brice Samba, Yuri Ribeiro and John Bostock all making their debuts for the East Midlands outfit.

Sabri Lamouchi's side weren't at the races in the opening 45 minutes, but they were soon back to their usual selves when Silva slammed the ball home into the roof of the net to send Forest into round two of the Carabao Cup.

The Portuguese playmaker pulled the strings for Forest on Tuesday night, with Samba Sow and Bostock taking up more holding midfield roles. Silva picked up the man of the match award on the night after a dazzling display in midfield.
