Sheffield Wednesday manager Stuart Gray has said he’s not worried over speculation about Kieran Westwood and Tom Lees moving away from the club.
Goalkeeper Westwood has being linked with Liverpool as they look to expand their options due to Simon Mignolet’s poor form, and are also eyeing a move for Bolton Wanderers goalkeeper Adam Bogdan, as reported on FLW.
Tom Lees, who arrived from Leeds over summer, has been linked with Hull, Sunderland and Burnley after some impressive performances in the Championship this season.
Gray is keen to keep his standout players as Wednesday look to make a second half of the season play-off push.
Gray told the Sheffield Star: “I don’t worry about speculation.
“It’s good when you are asking me about them. It means they must be performing well. Probably this time last year, you would not have been asking that question. It shows how far we have come as a football club.”
The Owls have already expanded their options in their squad by signing Lewis Baker and Will Keane on loan from Chelsea and Manchester United respectively.
Wednesday’s last league game was against Bolton Wanderers, where they fell to a 2-1 defeat. Liam Feeney opened the scoring after two minutes with a good finish, before Darren Pratley doubled the lead at 25 minutes. They gave away a penalty three limited later, which Chris Maguire converted.
They play Brimingham City tonight and will look to take three points and take a step towards the play offs.
Sheffield Wednesday are now up to ninth this season on 37 points and are considered to be over achieving this season after a relegation scare last year.
