Barry Douglas has been killing time during Leeds United’s forced postponement by taking on some shooting practise at an isolated training ground.

Leeds have seen their promotion push put on hold due to the outbreak of coronavirus, with no resume date confirmed yet.

For Douglas, he’s been updating fans regularly of his activity on Instagram, which was no different earlier this weekend, with the 30-year-old putting his boots back on and rifling some shots into an empty goal.

And, it prompted a brilliant response from teammate Stuart Dallas, who took to the comment section to reply: ‘Not bad for 8 yards out’, with reference to how close Douglas looks to the unguarded net.

Douglas built a reputation as a goalscoring full-back during his season with Wolves in 2017/18, with the Scot scoring five goals for Nuno Santo’s side as they stormed to the Championship title.

He’s not yet rediscovered that goalscoring form at Elland Road, with Douglas without a goal in almost two full seasons under Marcelo Bielsa.

Recently, Dallas’ good form on the left-side of defence has seen him move ahead of Douglas in the pecking order.

The Verdict

This is a good response from Dallas, who is taking aim at his close friend’s Instagram post.

Of course, it is all in good spirits and shows the bond that the Leeds squad has.

It’s good to see that despite this forced postponement, which will be killing the players, spirits are still high and a laugh and joke can be shared.
