Besiktas are confident of sealing a deal to sign Wilfried Bony this summer, as Swansea City look to offload the striker.

According to the Mirror’s live transfer blog (30/06, 19:04), Swansea have been looking to offload Bony to the Premier League, but with very little interest, a move to Turkey looks on the cards.

The report suggests the Ivorian has held talks with Besiktas, who are confident of sealing a deal to bring the striker in.

The Swans are expected to receive £3m from Bony’s loan move, with the striker ending a frustrating second spell in Wales.

The 29-year-old has spent just a year back with Swansea, but his return has been frustrating, with very little opportunities going the striker’s way.

Last season in the Premier League, Bony made 15 appearances, with only eight of those coming in the starting XI.

Those appearances brought two goals, with the striker adding a further goal in the FA Cup.

Swansea, now under the management of Graham Potter, are preparing for life back in the Championship, having suffered relegation from the Premier League last season.

The Verdict

Bony will be on high wages at Swansea, meaning that moving him on is vital for the Swans this summer.

It’s been a poor second spell at Swansea for the striker, who has had his reputation dented.

A move away from England, where Bony has struggled in recent years, makes sense at this stage of the 29-year-old’s career.
