Norwich City are set to sign Arsenal youngster Marquinhos on loan for the remainder of the season.

According to Ryan Taylor, the 19-year old is set for a medical ahead of a move to be completed within the next 24-hours.

The Premier League side have come to an agreement to let the Brazilian sign for the Canaries on a temporary basis with David Wagner looking to bolster his attacking options.

It is understood that the Championship side have no option to buy as part of the deal, according to Arte de Roché.

The winger has made just one league appearance for Arsenal so far this season, coming off the bench in a 3-0 win over Brentford in September.

He has also featured three times in the Europa League, as well as making three domestic cup appearances across the EFL Cup and the FA Cup.

Marquinhos has one goal and one assist for Arsenal this season and has impressed with the team at youth level as well.

Wagner will be hoping the player can have an immediate impact in the team’s forward line as the Canaries look to challenge for a play-off place.

The Verdict

This is a potentially exciting signing for Norwich, with the Brazilian coming in with a solid reputation.

While he has been unable to make an impact with the Gunners, the team is high flying at the top of the Premier League table.

Going out and gaining regular game time will prove brilliant experience for him, which Norwich should be able to provide.

This should also be beneficial for Norwich, who will be gaining an exciting attacking outlet that will provide an added dynamic to Wagner’s side.
