Swansea were dealt a major blow to their promotion hopes at the weekend when they were beaten 2-1 at home to out-of-form Wigan Athletic.

The Swans will be hoping to put things right at the first time of asking when they travel to the Madejski Stadium to face a Reading side, who will be keen to build on a good performance of their own.

The Royals dominated the game against QPR at the weekend and under new boss, Jose Gomes, they could be a real threat to Swansea's chances of picking up a much-needed three points.

Swans boss Graham Potter made a number of changes in the defeat to Wigan as he looks to keep his squad fresh ahead of the New Year.

The likes of Leroy Fer, Nathan Dyer and Connor Roberts were all rested in the defeat, but they could be set to return against Gomes' side on Tuesday.

But how can we expect Swansea to line-up against the Royals?

Mulder is Swansea's first choice goalkeeper and will be expected to retain his place in the starting XI for this one.

The Dutchman has five clean sheets already this season and will be hoping to improve on that tomorrow against a goal-shy Reading team at the Madejski Stadium.

The on-loan Spurs centre-back has started the last two league games for Swansea and will be confident of keeping his place in the side for this game.

If he can build on some recent impressive performances of late, then he will play a starring role in keeping Swansea in the play-off hunt.

The young Welshman was rested in the defeat against Wigan at the weekend, but will be expected to return for this one.

He has been hugely impressive this season in his breakthrough year for the Swans.

Rodon has already made 20 starts this year for Potter's side and is a crucial member of the squad.

Swansea's captain has been one of their best and most consistent players this season.

His experience and leadership in a relatively young Swansea team will be crucial if they are to remain within touching distance of the top six.

Without him, they wouldn't be in with a chance.

Roberts was rested in the defeat to Wigan at the weekend, and his absence was evident.

Swansea lacked cutting edge going forward and Roberts has already shown that he can provide that spark and energy that is needed.

He has been one of Swansea's best players this season and will be hoping to build on some excellent performances.

Fer was also rested in the loss to Wigan on Saturday, but he's almost certain to return for this game.

He offers excellent energy and defensive cover to the Swansea back three.

Grimes has played in a number of positions this season but central midfield remains his best position.

He started there in the defeat to Wigan but put in a good enough shift to stake a claim for a starting spot against Reading.

Dyer has put in some steady performances since he returned to the side following a lengthy spell out of the team.

His pace and trickery could cause all sorts of problems for the Reading defence on Tuesday and he could be their biggest threat on the day.

Celina provides the creative spark in the Swansea team and he is likely to start against Reading.

The 22-year-old has four goals and three assists to his name this year and has impressed in recent performances for the Swans.

He'll be one of the biggest threats going forward for Swansea on Tuesday.

Bony's confidence will have taken a knock at the weekend as he missed a last minute penalty against Aston Villa to see Swansea miss out on a valuable point.

He has one goal so far this season and will be hoping to make up for lost time after missing the first part of the season through injury.

McBurnie has been Swansea's first choice striker this season and it's clear to see why.

He has eight goals to his name and is the club's top goalscorer, and he'll be hoping to add to that tally against a leaky Reading defence.
