Saturday saw an epic encounter between Leeds United and Millwall at Elland Road, with the latter eventually walking away with three points after a Sky Bet Championship classic.

Millwall had stormed into a two-goal lead through goals from Aiden O’Brien and Lee Gregory, stunning Leeds, who saw Liam Cooper dismissed for a lunging foul between the two goals.

However, despite finding themselves a man down, Leeds battled back to 2-2 thanks to goals from Pierre-Michel Lasogga and Kemar Roofe, before Lasogga fired the Whites into a 3-2 lead just after the hour.

The contest then took another twist, with Tom Elliott and Jed Wallace both striking late to secure the points and a 4-3 victory for Millwall, leaving Leeds and Elland Road deflated.

Despite not finding himself amongst the goals, Steve Morison was excellent on his Elland Road return, proving to be a constant threat to Leeds.

Millwall’s official Twitter account have moved to share some of Morison’s stats from the game, via Whoscored.com, with the 34-year-old posting some impressive numbers.

The striker won seven aerial duels and made six key passes, which in-turn resulted in three assists for the striker on a memorable afternoon for him and Millwall, who were recording their first away victory of the season.

The Verdict

Morison was certainly the pantomime villain on Saturday afternoon, getting under the skin of everyone inside Elland Road not representing Millwall.

The 34-year-old showed his class with his two first-half assists, and was a constant threat to Leeds, who couldn’t deal with his dedication.

The only thing the striker’s performance lacked was a goal, which he was more than deserving of.
