Hamburg striker Pierre-Michel Lasogga has arrived on England with family members to discuss a move to Leeds United, according to Phil Hay of The Yorkshire Evening Post on Twitter.

The German forward has been linked with the Whites for several weeks, and it appears a switch to Elland Road is now in motion.

The 25-year-old has been with the Bundesliga outfit since 2014, scoring an impressive 26 goals in only 96 league appearances.

Leeds are in the market for a new centre forward following the departure of Chris Wood to Burnley, and Lasogga is looking likely to be the man to replace the big Kiwi.

A former German U21 international, Lasogga would be a real coup for Thomas Christiansen’s side, and could play an important role in their promotion push.

The Verdict: Leeds are in desperate need of attacking reinforcements following Wood’s departure and an injury to Caleb Ekuban, and Christiansen is showing real vision by attempting to bring Lasogga to Elland Road.

The striker is entering the peak years of his career, and having impressed in the German top flight for so many years, should adapt to the demands of the Championship with relative ease.

A good centre forward with the ability to play as a target man, Lasogga will be an excellent addition to the Yorkshire outfit, as they aim to break into the top six this season.

Do you think Lasogga is the man to replace Wood, Leeds fans?
