Sunderland take on Burton Albion tomorrow in the Championship fixture at the Stadium of Light knowing that a loss would all but relegate them to League One.

But if Chris Coleman's side can pick up a win, then they could move to within three points of safety with two games to play, depending on the results of Bolton Wanderers, Birmingham City and Barnsley.

It will be a tough test for Sunderland and Burton Albion showed that they cannot be underestimated last weekend when they beat play-off hopefuls Derby County 3-1 to leapfrog Sunderland at the foot of the Championship table.

But if they play to their best, then Sunderland will fancy their chances of picking up all three points here.

Sunderland will need to make changes to the team that drew with Reading as full backs Donald Love and Bryan Oviedo are out injured, alongside Lynden Gooch, Joel Asoro, Duncan Watmore, Ty Browning and Jonny Williams.

Here is the starting XI that Coleman simply must field to ensure Sunderland claim all three points.

Lee Camp has been atrocious this season and his mistakes have been very costly.

With Robin Ruiter and Jason Steele injured (and also performing badly), now is the perfect time to blood in young Polish stopper Max Stryjek.

With Donald Love out injured, Coleman will be relieved to have Adam Matthews back available.

The Welshman is unspectacular but will do a job for Sunderland at right back.

Lamine Kone is unlikely to stay at Sunderland if they get relegated but he should still be given a start again here.

The powerful centre half should be able to cope with the likes of Darren Bent and Marvin Sordell, although he will need to be on top of his game if he is to shackle Liam Boyce, who is starting to grow in confidence.

John O'Shea has returned from injury and he should be favoured ahead of Jake Clarke-Salter.

The veteran defender will hope to use his experience to deal with any Burton attacks.

Marc Wilson played well against Leeds at left back and in the absence of Bryan Oviedo, he should be given another go.

Coleman might favour playing Billy Jones out of position here but Wilson would be a more solid bet.

Although he has been criticised for having a poor year, Lee Cattermole is still a leader on the pitch and someone that Coleman needs to motivate his players.

The long-serving 30-year-old is a no nonsense midfielder whose role will be to break up any Burton attacks.

Former Manchester United defender Paddy McNair has really stepped up in recent games.

The Northern Ireland international is surely one of the first names on Coleman's team sheet.

Callum McManaman has been inconsistent this season but he proved just what he can do at Reading with a good display.

The 26-year-old is a direct threat when he is in form and he will cause problems for the Burton full backs if he has a good game.

George Honeyman has been a standout player for Sunderland this season, with seven goals and two assists to his name.

If the 23-year-old has another impressive game, he should be able to outclass the Burton defence tomorrow.

On his day, Aiden McGeady can be a very special player.

Coleman should keep him out wide and hope that he provides the magic for Sunderland tomorrow.

Ashley Fletcher has been dreadful for Sunderland and Coleman should replace him with Josh Maja.

The 19-year-old is still a raw talent but he might just have a point to prove and grab a vital goal for the Black Cats.
