Burnley have been busy getting their team ready to take on the Championship next season and even after making a handful of signings already, there is still plenty of news doing the rounds.

Vincent Kompany has wasted no time in coming to Turf Moor and snapping up some of the best talent that the EFL has to offer and signing some talented youngsters to boot.

He’s also shown no signs of slowing down yet either – and the incomings and outgoings might continue on for a while with the Clarets yet.

Here then, are the latest pieces of news that you might have missed surrounding Burnley.

Clarets considering striker bid

Vincent Kompany’s ties to Man City are bound to end up with several players at the Etihad Stadium being linked with a move to Turf Moor.

Having already clinched several this summer, including Taylor Harwood-Bellis and CJ Egan-Riley, there is now another name doing the rounds too. That man is Liam Delap, with Lancs Live reporting that Burnley want him on a loan deal.

The youngster has yet to really test himself outside of City and has only ever managed two Premier League outings for his parent club to date. Having shone for their reserve side though, the Clarets are now ready to give the forward the chance in competitive football.

They might face competition for his signature but Burnley are at least seemingly in the race to land him this offseason.

Kompany keen to land 23-year-old on permanent basis

Another name that has been linked with a switch to the Clarets is Dara O’Shea, with Football League World exclusively reporting that the side are interested in bringing him to Turf Moor.

The defender could be available on a deal from West Brom and after impressing for the Baggies in the Premier League, he could now be given the chance to shine with Burnley.

The club are certainly in the market for a new player in their backline after losing Nathan Collins. It now looks as though some of that money could be spent trying to bring in O’Shea as a direct replacement for him.

It would be a fairly cheap option for the club but would be one that could pay off handsomely. He managed only 14 league games last term and now could be afforded the chance to become a more frequent option at Turf Moor.

Doumbia on the Burnley radar

Reports from France are suggesting that there is yet another name who could end up signing for Vincent Kompany’s team before the summer is out and that is Souleyman Doumbia.

He wouldn’t be cheap but Burnley have sold players that have allowed them to have a solid amount of funds in their bank. Now, Foot Mercato is reporting that some of that money could go towards the signing of the 25-year-old during this transfer window.

He played frequently for Angers last season, managing 27 league games and had the same total in the campaign before that. He has been a first-team regular for the side then but they could be tempted to cash-in this offseason on the player.

The full-back has yet to test himself in England and although Burnley seemingly face competition from Birmingham, they are likely to have more money to be able to offer him and could also potentially give him the chance to get involved in a push for promotion too.
