The loan window closes in just over two weeks and Millwall boss Neil Harris is still hoping to further add to his squad.

So far this summer the Lions have made three signings, two permanent in Murray Wallace from Scunthorpe United and Jiri Skalak joining from Premier League Brighton and Hove Albion.

While Ben Amos arrived on a season-long loan Bolton Wanderers to complete their current transfer activity.

Players will be entering the doors at The Den, but with new signings arriving, players will undoubtedly leave on a temporary basis to gain first-team football.

Harris has made no secret of his desire to add to his side to build further competition ahead of the August 31 deadline.

And you would expect a couple of new players to be incoming over the next week or so.

With that said, here are three potential loan developments that could excite Millwall supporters.

Should a striker or two arrive, then Tom Elliott should be let go on a temporary basis to get regular game time.

The last time he had that was at AFC Wimbledon before his move to The Den which has not worked out the way the club or the fans would have liked, and even the player for that matter.

He has all the attributes to be a solid signing for the Lions, but a run of games would allow him to find the form he once had and the form Lions’ fans are anticipating they get to see.

With the need for a striker, the QPR man is out of favour and could well be what the Lions need.

He can score goals and is pretty solid in the air, and his all-round game is pretty reliable.

Washington’s goal ratio at Peterborough was pretty good before his move to Loftus Road.

Neil Harris has a knack of getting the best out of players who are seemingly underperforming for their club.

The 26-year-old could well get back to his best if temporarily shipped off to The Den.

The young midfielder has been out of contention in the first-team during the league campaign.

Towards the end of last season and the start of this, Thompson has found starting opportunities limited, with a lack of substitute appearances to boot.

A loan would by no means be the end of his Millwall career.

It would merely allow him to carry on his development playing week in week out which isn’t currently happening.

Should he be loaned out, he would indeed move back to The Den a better player.
