Striker Freddie Ladapo could be available on a loan in the final hours of the transfer market with Derby County touted as potentially interested in the forward.

The former Plymouth man hasn't managed to get much of a run in the Millers' side with the likes of Matt Crooks and Michael Smith leading the line for Paul Tisdale's men.

He could be allowed to leave on a temporary basis, then, and it appears a move to Pride Park is one route he could go down, according to Tom Barclay on Twitter at least:

The Verdict

Derby could do with another forward player and perhaps Ladapo is the route they go down.

He has shown in the past he is a sharp striker in the box and that is perhaps what the Rams need more of as they look to share the goal-scoring burden alongside Colin Kazim-Richards.

There will be belief the Rams can get away from trouble if they don't sign a striker, of course, but there would be further calls that they're going to survive if Ladapo came in and hit the ground running.

He's been frustrated at Rotherham but if he rolls his sleeves up, perhaps he can be a hit at Pride Park.

Time will surely tell here.
