A number of Nottingham Forest supporters have been lauding the performance of midfielder James Garner following the Reds’ goalless draw at home to promotion-chasing Bournemouth.

Chris Hughton’s side headed into the game looking to maintain their recent momentum and potentially extend their winning run to three successive matches. However, in the end, they were happy to see the game out for a point having delivered a strong defensive display against Bournemouth and that means they have now lost just one of their last 11 matches.

One player who was instrumental for the Reds in the heart of their midfield was Garner, with the Manchester United loanee helping to provide protection to the back four and also showing a number of neat touches and efficiency with his passing when he got on the ball. It was an encouraging display from the 19-year-old who is looking like an astute January addition.

The midfielder managed to make two tackles and three interceptions, as well as enjoying 43 touches of the ball and making two key passes (Sofascore). That shows he was effective at both ends of the field and the 19-year-old will need to continue to show this type of form on a consistent basis to help Hughton’s side continue their promising run of form.

Many Nottingham Forest fans were keen to suggest that he is looking like an excellent arrival and one fan even compared him to the arrival of Aaron Ramsey when he joined from Arsenal on a temporary basis in 2010/11.

Here then, we take a look at some of the best reactions on social media…
