Saido Berahino has never scored a goal for Stoke City and the last time he netted was over two years ago.

But does the former West Brom striker have a future at Stoke City?

FLW writers have their say on whether Berahino could get first-team chances next season...

Jay Williams

Berahino has had his well-documented attitude problems in the past but perhaps this is the fresh start he needs.

The chance to shine in a new league under a new manager could present Berahino with the ideal opportunity to get his career back on track.

But he will have to prove to Gary Rowett that he is willing to work hard to save his career during pre-season when the opportunities arise.

Adam Willmott

Possibly - after years of issues and a goal scoring drought, whether Berahino can be involved at Stoke is an unknown.

It is likely Rowett will give Berahino some game time off the bench and in cup competitions.

Louie Chandler

It all depends on the player's attitude in pre-season. If he turns up and shows Gary Rowett he is hungry to play then he may well be.

He is an obviously talented player. But if he shows up with the same attitude demonstrated over the last few seasons then absolutely not.

Alfie Burns

Gary Rowett will give him a chance in pre-season.

Right now, the odds seem stacked against Berahino working his way into first-team contention, but stranger things have happened in the past.

The Championship could provide the striker with the fresh start needed.

Chris Gallagher

Perhaps, it's all on the player. Gary Rowett is new to the club so will give everyone a chance to prove themselves.

Therefore, it's all on Berahino. He's not going to have clubs queuing up to sign him so needs to get his head down and impress in training.
