Former Leeds United defender Micky Gray has suggested that Arsenal should consider appointing Marcelo Bielsa as their new manager, which has been met with an animated response by fans of the Yorkshire club.

The Gunners sacked Unai Emery yesterday on the back of a 2-1 defeat to Eintracht Frankfurt at the Emirates on Thursday evening and having made a poor start to the Premier League season.

Club legend Freddie Ljungberg has stepped in as caretaker boss while they search for a new permanent manager.

Gray, who spent two short loan spells at Elland Road, took to Twitter yesterday to suggest that Bielsa would be an ideal candidate.

The Argentine coach took charge of Leeds last summer and narrowly missed out on promotion in his first season in charge–with his side slipping to third and losing to Derby County in the play-offs.

Bielsa's men have made a fantastic start to the 2019/20 campaign and will go top of the Championship with a win today.

A world-renowned coach, the 64-year-old is hugely experienced and looked up to by some of the game's biggest managers, such as Pep Guardiola and Mauricio Pochettino.

Unsurprisingly, Gray's suggestion was met with an animated response by Whites supporters, with some telling him to keep quiet.
