Luton Town boss Nathan Jones has claimed that Josh Koroma should've been sent-off during Saturday's 1-1 draw with Huddersfield Town.

Koroma was booked on 17 minutes for looking to stop a Luton break, with the forward then lunging into a challenge moments later. Oliver Langford let him off with a final warning and the 22-year-old remained on the field until 82 minutes, when Carlos Corberan substituted him.

Jones has claimed that the Huddersfield man should have seen red for the second challenge, describing it as a stonewall yellow card.

Speaking in the aftermath of the game, Jones was asked whether Koroma should've remained on the pitch. He said: “100% no, 100% no.

“It’s a massive, massive decision in the game, he got booked and the second one is a stonewall, unequivocal, unarguable yellow, so he should have been (sent off)."

Annoyingly for Jones, Koroma had a hand in the game's equaliser too, with the winger feeding Harry Toffolo on the overlap. The full-back's cross was then headed in by Carel Eiting on the hour for 1-1.

George Moncur had put Luton into the lead on 21 minutes.

The Verdict

As Koroma lunged into the challenge, Jones and his staff were convinced it was a second yellow.

Of course, had Koroma not been booked moments earlier, it might've been, but Langford gave him a chance and didn't ruin the game by sending him off.

Obviously Jones is going to be annoyed, but you don't want to see red cards and, in my mind, it was right to give Koroma the benefit of the doubt.
