Stoke City are plotting a major move for Sheffield Wednesday's talisman Fernando Forestieri, according to the Star.

Would the attacking midfielder/forward be a perfect signing for Gary Rowett's Stoke?

We discuss....

Jay Williams

In Forestieri, the Potters would have a versatile forward who knows the division inside out.

If he stays fit all season, he will be a useful outlet to have, providing goals and assists from just behind the striker. Having striker options of Forestieri and Afobe will surely get Stoke pushing for an automatic spot.

George Dagless

He'd be ideal for them.

On form and fit, the forward is one of the best in the league and if Wednesday must sell-up there'd be a real clamour for him.

Stoke could lose Xherdan Shaqiri but Forestieri would go some way to replace him if not totally.

Alfie Burns

Stoke would be a frightening side if this happens.

Rowett has done really well so far to shape his squad ahead of next season, and with or without Forestieri, they are going to be a force.

However, if they can lure the Italian out of Hillsborough, they would have one foot back in the Premier League.

Chris Gallagher

Exactly what they need.

They've got the natural number nine in Afobe and if they could get Forestieri playing behind him it would be a very exciting partnership.

He would be the perfect link-man and those two would be the best pairing in the division.
