Stoke City are ready to spend some big money and finalise three transfers in the coming days, according to reports.
The Stoke Sentinel reports that Stoke are close to completing deals to sign James Chester, James McClean and Tom Ince.
Stoke’s transfer business has gone quiet since they acted quickly to snap up Oghenekaro Etebo and Benik Afobe, with only goalkeeper Adam Federici arriving since the 12th June.
But it is about to explode into life as Stoke close in on three big name signings.
Aston Villa centre-back Chester has been a star performer for his side over the past two seasons but with Financial Fair Play demanding they sell their prize assets, he looks set for a switch to the bet365 Stadium.
McClean is also trading another Championship club for Stoke with a £5m switch from West Brom edging closer to completion.
And after missing out on Newcastle United’s Matt Ritchie, Stoke are now on the verge of signing Tom Ince from Huddersfield Town in a £10m deal – just one year after former Derby County boss Gary Rowett sold him to the Terriers.
All three of these additions will really strengthen Stoke’s options and make them a force to be reckoned with.
Chester shores up the defence and is an ideal partner for Ryan Shawcross; McClean adds pace and directness from the left flank; Ince is a proven goal scorer and assist provider at Championship level.
You have to say that they are among the favourites for the title now.
