Stoke City are continuing to weigh up a move for Andre Gray, as Gary Rowett looks to guide the Potters back to the Premier League at the first time of asking.

Rowett arrived at Stoke earlier in the summer and has quickly got to work in reshaping his Stoke squad.

According to the Mirror’s live transfer blog (15/06, 16:29), Gray is on Rowett’s radar, as Stoke look at add another striker to their squad following Benik Afobe’s arrival earlier in the month.

Gray is a possibility, with Rowett weighing up a move for the Watford striker.

The 26-year-old has been with Watford just 12 months, scoring five Premier League goals, with the striker struggling for regular opportunities in the starting XI.

Gray’s previous two years in the Championship were impressive, though, with the striker bagging 18 goals for Brentford during the 2014/15 campaign, earning himself a move to Burnley.

The 26-year-old then bagged 25 goals during the 2015/16 campaign, spearheading Burnley’s promotion to the Premier League.

The Verdict

Gray is an exceptionally talented striker, who in the Championship has shown how lethal he can be, with his years at Brentford and Burnley particularly prolific.

Despite the striker struggling to transform that level of performance in the Premier League, there is no doubting his talent.

The 26-year-old would give Rowett's side another dangerous attacking player, with Stoke already looking like early contenders for promotion.

Gray is similar to Afobe, who has already signed, but pairing the two together could be lethal.
