With the transfer window set to close tomorrow night, it will be intriguing to see whether Stoke City are able to add to their squad.

Whilst the Potters have experienced somewhat of a resurgence in form since opting to appoint Michael O'Neill as their new manager, they could potentially reach new heights in the Championship by bolstering their squad.

Having already let a number of players leave the bet365 Stadium this month, Stoke may also decide to cut ties with several individuals who are not in the first-team picture.

Here, we round-up what has been happening on the transfer front over the past few days...

James Chester

Despite helping Aston Villa achieve promotion to the Premier League last season by making 28 appearances in the Championship for the club, James Chester has been forced to watch on from the sidelines during the current campaign.

Having only featured on two occasions this season, the defender is reportedly closing on a move to Stoke.

According to The Athletic (29/01) the Potters are expected to complete a loan deal for Chester before the window shuts on Friday.

Given that Ryan Shawcross has suffered considerably with injuries this season, it may be worth Stoke taking a risk on Chester as he would strengthen their options at centre-back.

Lasse Sorensen

Since making his debut for the Potters in 2018, Lasse Sorensen has struggled to make any further inroads on the club's starting eleven.

Yet to make a senior appearance this season, the midfielder has been linked with a temporary move away from the bet365 Stadium.

According to the Daily Record (as cited by the Stoke Sentinel), Sorensen is subject of interest from Scottish side St Johnstone who are currently in talks with the Potters over a loan deal.

Given his lack of playing time at Stoke, it could be argued that a switch to the Saints could allow the 20-year-old to get his career back on track.

Scott Hogan

When Scott Hogan joined Stoke City last summer on loan from Aston Villa, he would have been hoping to take the Championship by storm.

However, a lack of consistency resulted in the forward failing to make a significant impact for the Potters during the opening months of the season.

After netting just two goals in 15 appearances, Hogan left Stoke yesterday to join Birmingham City on loan for the remainder of the 2019/20 campaign.

The 27-year-old could be in line to make his debut for the Blues on Saturday when they host Nottingham Forest at St Andrew's.
