Stoke City’s Bojan is attracting interest from Portugal late this summer, with Porto keen on securing the service of the ex-Barcelona playmaker.

Alan Nixon, often a reliable source on social media, is reporting that Bojan has admirers in Portugal, with Porto keen to secure his service ahead of the new season, whilst also indicating Benfica could maybe move too.

Bojan has dropped down into the Sky Bet Championship with Stoke this summer, and made his first start of the season in the second-tier on Sunday, as the Potters were beaten 3-1 by Leeds United.

The 27-year-old, who started his career in La Liga with Barcelona, has been with Stoke since the summer of 2014.

During his time at the bet365 Stadium, Bojan has made 63 appearances across all competitions, scoring 15 goals for the Potters.

However, over the course of the last 18 months, the forward has spent time away from Stoke in two separate spells.

Firstly, he linked up with Mainz, before then heading to Alaves.

Gary Rowett included Bojan in his first matchday squad on Sunday, however, with Bojan completing the final 27 minutes at Elland Road.

The Verdict

Bojan is a high-profile player, who some will be amazed to see in the Championship.

His spell with Stoke has been a bit of a disappointment, though, which is part of the reason why the club are where they are.

A move back into Europe could suit the 27-year-old, and it’s a move we could see develop in the coming weeks, with the European window remaining open until the end of the month.
