Stoke City are set to make a summer move for Blackpool striker Dom Telford, according to the Blackpool Gazette.
Telford, 18, has been a bright spark in what has turned out to be an abysmal season for Lee Clark’s Blackpool side.
The young forward has found first-team action somewhat hard to come by, but he has made many appearances off of the bench for the Tangerines.
Telford scored his first professional goal for Blackpool against Rotherham United back in December, and the highly-rated forward is now the subject of interest from Mark Hughes’ Stoke City.
The publication claims that Telford would go straight into the under-21 setup at the Premier League side, and would be earmarked as a player for the future at the club.
Telford would undoubtedly need to mature and develop as a footballer before going straight into the first-team Premier League team.
However, there are clear signs that the youngster has a plethora of talent and ability and it would be no surprise to see the striker appear regularly in the top-flight in the years to come.
