Aston Villa's Jaden Philogene-Bidace is due to undergo a medical with Stoke City today ahead of completing a loan move to the Sky Bet Championship club, as per a recent report by Football Insider.

The 19-year-old attacker is said to have been given the green light by his parent side to complete the temporary move to the Potters and all parties will now be looking to get the deal over the line today.

Stoke are said to have beaten off interest from several other clubs in order to secure the teenager's signature and are now set to finalise the switch imminently with an announcement expected later on Thursday.

It is said that the Potters have promised Villa that they will deploy Philogene-Bidace in his preferred attacking midfield position as a number 10.

This is a factor that is said to be key to the deal being agreed, whilst Michael O'Neill's impressive track record for developing young players is also said to have impressed the Premier League side.

Philogene-Bidace made his top flight debut earlier this season and is viewed as a great prospect for the future in the Midlands.

The Verdict

This is another good option for Stoke to add to their attack at a stage of the season where there is a lot of games coming up, so they will be hoping that this Villa prospect can make a lasting impact moving forwards.

It is a move that lacks much in the way of risk and there could be the potential for further agreements to struck with the Premier League club if Philogene-Bidace thrives at the Bet365 Stadium.

O'Neill is once again putting faith in youth and will certainly point to the solid record he has working with young players if anyone questions this signing.

It will certainly be intriguing to see how the teenager gets on.
