Stoke City are preparing an offer for Rangers winger Jordan Jones, according to reports from the Daily Mail.

The 25-year-old has endured a mixed spell at Ibrox since arriving from Kilmarnock in the summer, on the back of scoring four goals and adding four assists for Steve Clarke's side last term.

Jones hasn't featured for Rangers in the SPFL since the defeat to Celtic in early September, where he picked up an injury whilst also receiving a red card for a challenge on Moritz Bauer.

The winger has found it hard to reclaim his place in Steven Gerrard's side, as the Glasgow outfit continue to fight with Celtic for the SPFL title.

Jones - who is reportedly valued at a price of around £1m -  has been linked with moves away from Ibrox this month, with Stoke City and Middlesbrough recently said to be interested in the Northern Ireland international.

Now, it has emerged that former Northern Ireland boss Michael O'Neill is preparing an offer for Jones, as he looks to lure him away from Ibrox to Stoke.

The Potters currently sit 21st in the Championship table, one point clear of the relegation zone with a game in hand.

The Verdict

Jones is a player that O'Neill obviously knows really well, and he could be an astute signing for Stoke.

Aside from James McClean, they lack an out-and-out wide player who can get to the byline and whip in crosses, and Jones is exactly that type of player.

It could be a real coup to lure him away from Ibrox after such a short time in Glasgow, but he is a player that could help Stoke out massively.
