Stoke City striker Mame Biram Diouf could soon be on his way out of the Bet 365 Stadium.

Turkish newspaper Olay is reporting that Bursaspor are interested in bringing the 31-year-old to the Super Lig, despite a transfer ban.

The club are working hard to have that lifted in time to get a deal over the line before the tomorrow evening’s deadline.

A stumbling block could be the wage demands of the former Manchester United attacker, who is insisting on having a salary of €1.5million between now and the end of next season, according to Olay.

But the club are unable to afford that kind of money; the Bursaspor chairman has reportedly confirmed.

Olay is also reporting that Galatasaray have an interest in the attacker, and that could be an option of Diouf doesn’t lower his demands.

The Stoke man has made seven appearances in the Championship this term, six from the start and once from the bench – failing to register a single goal.

The verdict

An outcast at Stoke, a move could be the best thing for the player and the club.

It would remove him from the wage bill which would be a boost for Nathan Jones who will be wanting to reduce costs and improving the side with his coaching methods.

The way Jones sets his side up, Diouf does not fit into that style, and the only thing plausible would be to exit the club to pursue new opportunities.

I see this being a deadline day deal that could rumble on and go down to the wire.
