The future of Tyrese Campbell at Stoke City is likely to be a huge talking point between now and the end of the January transfer window.

The 19-year-old has endured a rather mixed season at the bet365 Stadium, with his future now up in the air heading into the latter stages of the winter window.

Campbell started the season way, way down in the pecking order under Nathan Jones, behind the likes of Lee Gregory, Scott Hogan and Sam Vokes.

But the striker has since stepped up to become a massively important player for Stoke, scoring five goals in his last nine games under the watchful eye of Michael O'Neill.

On Monday night, Campbell scored the game's only goal as Stoke defeated high-flying league leaders West Bromwich Albion at The Hawthorns.

This would prove to be a massive goal, leading to a massive win for Stoke, which saw them climb four points clear of the relegation zone after picking up only their eighth win of the campaign.

There is no getting away from the fact that it has been a dismal season for the Potters, but out of nowhere, a young, hungry talent has emerged and become a beacon of hope for the club.

Naturally, plenty of clubs had already been linked with Campbell's signature before his excellent form in front of goal. Rangers and Celtic were said to be tracking the striker, via Football Insider, with his current contract set to run out at the end of the season.

Now, it has emerged that Sheffield United have now joined Wolves and Crystal Palace in the race to sign the young forward, with only 10 days to go until the transfer window slams shut.

Campbell is only going to attract more and more interest, especially after last night's terrific individual performance, which should only prompt Stoke into doing one thing.

The club must look to act and tie Campbell down to a new deal, as he is only going to become more confident and become more important to Stoke as weeks go by.

It's a massive decision for Campbell to make with so many high-profile clubs being linked with his signature, and it's likely that his father, Kevin, will play a part in his decision.

It is now Stoke's chance, and Michael O'Neill's chance, to explain what the future holds for Campbell and where he wants the club to go, which could really help Campbell decide to stay.

He is settled at the Staffordshire club, however it remains to be seen where his future lies. Stoke cannot afford to waste time in the race to secure their player's future, and they should look to wrap it up as soon as possible.
