Stoke City’s return to the Championship got off to a rough start with a 3-1 reverse at the hands of Leeds United on Sunday.

Seven players have entered the doors at the Bet365 Stadium, with no less than seven leaving this summer.

With the new arrivals, players will undoubtedly lose their place in the side, with some wanting to leave the club to get regular first team football.

Others will leave as it is their desire to move club or play at a higher level and get a second chance at Premier League football.

Manager Gary Rowett needs to balance the books and if he is to make anymore signings, he is going need to sell in order to afford them to comply with Financial Fair Play.

The transfer window slams shut at 5pm on Thursday afternoon.

With that in mind, here are two players that Stoke City should be looking to cash-in on before the deadline passes.

Despite featuring in the Potters’ season opener at Elland Road on Sunday, the midfielder is still trying to leave the club.

Ndiaye has been linked with Everton for the majority of the off-season.

Stoke’s club record signing went AWOL during the summer trying to force a move away from the club.

That approach is not the most appropriate course of action.

But the seemingly sanctimonious return of Ndiaye to training and the first team is masking the fact Stoke should look to sell their record signing.

In his heart of hearts he doesn’t want to be there. Sell, sell, sell and cash in ahead of the deadline.

When Stoke were relegated, you could tell the England international cared, tears filled his eyes as their drop to the second tier was confirmed.

He has since comiited himsled to staying at the Bet365 Stadium, but with the lure of Chelsea hovering over him, and he could be offloaded.

And now would be the time to cash-in with the Premier League side’s Tibhaut Courtios going AWOL in a move to force through a sale to Real Madrid.

Chelsea will need a keeper and they will be desperate with the window soon shutting.

You can see Stoke cashing-in to maximise the amount they receive from the stopper when the interested party need him the most.

Stoke will still have the loan window to do business thereafter so they should make a huge profit on the fromer Birmingham stopper and sell.
