Senegalese midfielder Badou Ndiaye has issued the clearest indication yet he'll be leaving Stoke City this summer, speaking to Turkish outlet Millyet.

Ndiaye only  joined Stoke City from Galatasaray during the last January transfer window, but after the Potters relegation he's been linked with an immediate departure, both Everton and Turkey being muted as possible destinations.

“Everyone knows how much I love Turkey and the people," he told Millyet. "Galatasaray is like my home, my family. I am very happy for the fans’ messages to me. But I can honestly say that I don’t know the latest of the transfer. Sometimes I read the news about myself but in reality, we need to wait to see what will happen next.”

Talks with Galatasaray have allegedly already been held with the player, currently in Russia on World Cup duty. He cost Stoke £14m in January, a figure they'd be looking to recoup as they try to bounce back into the Premier League at first attempt.

The midfielder moved to Galatasaray from fellow Turkish side Osmanlispor, where he scored 18 goals in 75 games. He'd previously been with Norwegian side Bodo/Glimt.

The Verdict

How fast moving is football these days? Join in January, be linked with a move away just a few months later. Such is the lure of the Premier League, but also the cost of losing your top-flight status.

Stoke may welcome the £14m or so that any sale could produce as they hunt for Championship-ready players who are committed to their cause.
