A duo of Australian sides want to sign Stoke City striker Peter Crouch this summer, according to The Sun.

Melbourne Victory and Sydney FC are both interested in bringing Crouch to the A-League this summer.

The 37-year-old has had a long and illustrious career in England, which started in the late 1990s.

With 108 Premier League goals to his name, the 6ft 7in striker is well known in England and he scored 22 times in 42 caps for his country.

Crouch has played for Tottenham Hotspur, Queens Park Rangers, Portsmouth, Aston Villa, Southampton, Liverpool  and Stoke in his lengthy career which has spanned three decades.

But now the Australian duo are hoping to prise him away from England and get him as a marquee signing for the top division down under.

It remains to be seen whether Crouch would be interested in this move or whether he would favour staying in England as he approaches the final years of his professional career.

The Verdict

I would try to keep Crouch at Stoke.

With his height, he offers something different and he has a knack of scoring goals, making him a useful all-round striker at Championship level.

Despite his age, I feel that he still has something to give, especially in this division.
