Stoke City are interested in signing former QPR midfielder, Jordan Cousins according to the Daily Mail.

The 25-year-old is set to depart Loftus Road when his contract comes to a conclusion at the end of this month.

He made 28 appearances for the Hoops last season as they finished 19th in the Championship after a poor run of results in the second-half of last year's campaign.

Cousins had been with QPR since 2016, after signing from Charlton Athletic and has been impressive in recent years.

But they positive performances seemingly haven't seen enough from Cousins and have allowed him to leave the club when his contract expires at the end of this month.

Stoke could be a tempting move for the midfielder as well, as they look to strengthen their squad ahead of another season in the Championship.

Nathan Jones will be keen to add some much-needed depth to his team as they mount their promotion challenge.

The Potters struggled to adjust to life in the Championship when they were relegated from the Premier League back in May 2018.

They finished 16th in the league table and will be keen to improve heading into next year's campaign, where a top six finish will certainly be the aim.

The Verdict:

This could prove to be a smart signing.

Cousins might not be a regular starter for Stoke if he was to join the Potters, but he's a useful player to have in any Championship squad to use on a rotational basis.

He's a free agent as well, so this should be a no-brainer for Nathan Jones to try and sign him.
