Stoke City forward Bojan is attracting interest from MLS side New England Revolution, although his salary is a potential stumbling block to a deal.

The forward, who became an instant hit in Staffordshire after joining four years ago, has spent the past two seasons out on loan, with Mainz in Germany and Alaves in Spain.

However, no permanent deal was forthcoming and the 27-year old is back at Stoke City ahead of pre-season, however a move could still be on the horizon.

That's because Boston Globe reporter Frank Dell'Apa revealed that the MLS side had gone in for Bojan, but that his wages were problematic to concluding the deal.

Yet, he does also state that whilst this complicates things, an agreement could be reached as the clubs and agents try and work something out.

The Potters boss Gary Rowett had indicated he would be prepared to give all the returning loan players, including Bojan, a chance to impress with a fresh start having only recently taken over as manager.

The Verdict

Stoke are building a strong squad ahead of the new season but it seems unlikely Bojan will be a part of it.

The former Barcelona man was terrific when he first joined but a bad knee injury really hampered his progress and whilst he is still a good player, the physicality and demanding nature of the Championship may not suit him.

Therefore, a move away could be best and the chance to move to America may appeal to the Spaniard if a deal can be reached.
